Ivana Trump staked a claim to her famous first name by sending a “cease and desist” letter to Finnish fashion house IVANAhelsinki before its runway show today in New York. Ivana, who has trademark rights to “Ivana” for her fashion line, said she would be willing to allow the show to proceed if IVANAhelsinki agrees to pay a commission and royalties. The fashion house says it has no intention of canceling the show since the family-owned company has been selling clothing under that name in Europe since 1998. “Using her name dilutes its value and is damaging to her reputation,” Trump attorney Gary Lyman told us.
