Vicente Fox, former president of Mexico, doesn’t think he’s famous enough. So he asked YouTube sensations the Gregory Brothers to make him a celebrity. It happened at the Google Zeitgeist event in Paradise Valley, Ariz., a confer ence for 600 or so innovators and leaders including Elizabeth Gore, Ari Emanuel, Guy Oseary, Wil l.I.Am, Ted Turner, Foursquare founder Dennis Crowley, Yahoo founder Jerry Yang and Edgar Bronfman Jr. The Gregory Brothers, a family quar tet from Brooklyn, created a music series, “Auto- Tune the News,” which includes clips of Katie Couric, President Obama and Rachel Maddow. One of their clips, “Bed Intruder,” has 21 million hits on YouTube. According to an eyewitness, Fox told the band how big a fan he was, then said, “I wish I were still president of Mexico, because then you would write a song about me and I could be famous.” One Gregory replied, “But you are famous, you’re the former presi dent of Mexico!” Fox replied, “I know, but I’m not fa mous enough!”
