Jane Fonda attends premiere of ‘The Tillman Story’

Jane Fonda — who is still despised by some patriots for posing on top of a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun during the Vietnam war — said she loved “The Tillman Story” at its premiere party at Michael’s the other night. The anti-war documentary focuses on the friendly fire death of Pat Tillman, who gave up his NFL career to fight terrorism and died in Afghanistan. Fonda said Tillman’s mother, Dannie, is like the hippie grandmother Fonda plays in the upcoming Woodstock film, “Peace, Love & Misunderstanding.” Also on hand: Ahmad Rashad, Dan Abrams, Boomer Esiason, Terry McDonell, John Cameron Mitchell, Lawrence O’Donnell and Kerry Washington. Kyle MacLachlan worked the room with wife Desirée Gruber, promoting his Washington State wine, Pursued by Bear, named for a stage direction in Shakespeare’s “The Winter’s Tale.” MacLachlan jotted down mailing addresses to send samples.
