Halloween partygoers at the Standard Hotel Saturday night had the choice of whether they wanted to celebrate the holiday in heaven or hell. The bash — hosted by Andre Balázs, Nick Rhodes, Andre Saraiva and Thomas Hayo — turned the hotel’s Boom Boom Room heavenly, with golden vines and waitresses in white passing cloud-like cotton candy, and its other in-house club, Le Bain, hellish, with vultures in the windows, a video-wall of flames and bartenders in either devil or skeleton gear.

Balázs and gal pal Chelsea Handler created their own historical characters and arrived in costume as Duke and Lady von Glamoor-ass from The Weimar Republic. They arrived from Allison Sarofim’s cabaret-themed Halloween bash earlier in the night.

Russell Simmons, meantime, dressed as a member of his little brother’s classic rap act Run-DMC. Adrien Brody seemed to channel his role as Savador Dali from Woody Allen’s “Midnight in Paris,” and the actor had China Chow on his arm all night. Marc Jacobs paraded around in a black sparkling bra and short shorts, and Calvin Klein’s date Nick Gruber went as a topless green beret. Fashion fotog Terry Richardson dressed as a Hasid and rolled with a crew of similarly dressed pals, including Harry Bee. Models Lily Donaldson and Dree Hemingway both went for the tried-and-true sexy cat look. And Jean Pigozzi seemed to go as … himself.

Most guests partied in heaven, which remained packed all night. Hell had more room to move and featured an aggressive, bumping techno soundtrack and a live performance by Latina hip hop artist Maluca. Kanon Vodka was the drink of the night at a “VVIP party” that went down before the rest of the more common saints ‘n’ sinners showed.
