The Kardashians are famous for their shapely posteriors, and Rob Kardashian was certainly thankful for his family’s heritage during last night’s “Dancing with the Stars” semi-finals.
“My butt is my secret weapon to my samba,” Kardashian joked in rehearsals. His words proved true, as he got a standing ovation for his first dance of the night.
Judge Carrie Anna Inaba was clearly impressed. “It’s booty, booty, booty, bootylicious,” she said. “Fantastic!”
“That’s how you turn a handicap into an ‘asset’,” added judge Bruno Tonioli.
Kardashian earned a score of 65 points for the night, between his samba, tango and placing first in the cha-cha relay, where contestants had to dance in rapid succession to the same song. His performance led to mom Kris Jenner bursting into tears in the audience, crying on husband Bruce Jenner’s shoulder. “He entered the competition as a boy,” Jenner said. “What I see now is this man.”
But Kardashian was two points away from first place after last night’s competition. Ricki Lake led the pack, getting her first perfect score of the season for her samba.
“Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous,” gushed judge Len Goodman. Lake also received a high score for her tango, and ended the night in the lead with 67 points.
J.R. MARTINEZ WOWS ON ‘DANCING’
Meanwhile, soap opera actor and Iraq veteran J.R. Martinez — who danced a perfect set last week — struggled because of a twisted ankle. After a disappointing paso doble and a painful tango, Martinez cursed under his breath. He ended the night in third place with 56 points, far behind Lake and Kardashian.
Soccer star Hope Solo was at the bottom of the pack in part because of a shoulder injury. “I’m in pain pretty much the entire time on the dance floor,” she said.
She earned a score of 49 for the night.
