Chelsea Handler generously handed out $138,000 to her staff after inking a new $25 million, two-year deal with E! this week. Sources say Handler gave 138 of her staffers $1,000 each, in cash, as a thank you. As part of her new contract, Handler will continue her run as host and executive producer of her late-night show “Chelsea Lately” through 2014. She’ll also produce and develop further projects through her Borderline Amazing Productions, which also produces her spinoff, “After Lately.” Borderline will have a first-look deal with E! and NBC Universal. Handler’s role at NBC has also been expanding: She will appear and executive-produce the network’s upcoming series, “Are You There, Chelsea?” based on her own not-so-family-friendly-titled book, “Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea.” Handler’s staffers can now buy quite a bit of vodka to celebrate their boss’ good fortune. Handler will appear tomorrow on CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight.”
