Rihanna may recently have been named Esquire magazine’s Sexiest Woman Alive, but Barbadian pop star confesses that, at the moment, she isn’t actually having much sex.
“I’m not dating anyone right now,” Rihanna told Ellen DeGeneres in an interview that will air on Monday. “It’s not fun. That’s why I stay on Twitter a lot. So I can [chat] with my fans, because I don’t get any booty calls.”
The sex toy enthusiast confesses that she’s “not necessarily happy being single.” But DeGeneres tried to help, asking Rihanna what she’s looking for in a man. She also asked the star if men were intimidated by her.

“I would say at times it can be intimidating but then it’s no good. I can’t have guys that are intimidated by me,” she responded. “I like men that are more aggressive. I like them to be sure of themselves and know that you’re the man. I’m the lady and the only way for us to make this work is for us to play our roles. You know, I can’t really be the man for you — I don’t want to have to be. I’m the man at work all the time.”
After Rihanna split with pop star Chris Brown, who plead guilty to beating the singer after the 2009 Grammy Awards, she started a relationship with baseball player Matt Kemp. The two broke up in late 2010, but were spotted together in London last month. She has also been linked to Canadian rapper Drake and was rumored to be dating Dudley O’Shaughnessy. The model and professional boxer starred in her video for “We Found Love,” but the two denied that being involved off-screen.
Rihanna’s sulky single status is a turnaround for the singer, who in April excitedly declared, “Who doesn’t enjoy being single?”
Her new album, “Talk That Talk,” will be released on Nov. 21.
