Boom Boom Room going private

The Standard Hotel’s 18th floor, better known as the Boom Boom Room, is one step closer to going private. The hotel got the blessing of Community Board 2 this week to change its liquor license from a public space to a private one. On Tuesday, the ultra-exclusive top floor bar had its last late-night soiree for the season, where guests had to be on an exclusive list to get in. For the rest of the summer, the floor will be open to the public during sunset hours only until 10 p.m., according to a rep, and resume late-night hours in the fall.
