Ethan Hawke had a few words of warning for dads at the Doe Fund gala Thursday night. The star, honored at Cipriani 42nd Street, joked: “I also like the fact that the Doe Fund makes sure that its participants pay their child support. Everyone has to pay their child support, and no matter if you’re a Hollywood actor or anyone else, it’s always a little bit more than you want to pay.” Hawke went through a 2004 divorce with Uma Thurman, with whom he has two kids, Maya, 12, and Levon, 8. The Fund, which helps people break cycles of homelessness, addiction and criminality, requires graduates to pay their rent and child support.
