Santos Party House shut down before Halloween weekend

The party’s over — for now, at least — at Chinatown hot spot Santos Party House, which was shut down indefinitely Thursday night, right before one of the busiest club-hopping weekends of the year. Santos — which was scheduled to host downtown cult band The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black at a Halloween-night record-release bash before the plug was pulled — was cited by the NYPD for having “criminal sale or possession of controlled substances” inside. A Santos rep blamed the shutdown on “minor incidents that occurred months ago” and said the club is expected to reopen after a hearing tomorrow.
