NBA star Derrick Rose fails to show up to film cameo for ‘The Good Wife’

NBA star Derrick Rose sparked fury on the set of CBS’s “The Good Wife” yesterday when he didn’t show up to film an agreed cameo appearance in New York.

The Bulls point guard refused to come out of his house in Chicago when the crew sent a car to pick him up on Tuesday morning, sources tell us.

Rose — who helped the Bulls to victory over the Portland Trail Blazers at Chicago’s United Center on Monday night — also refused to give the show’s producers an explanation for his no-show, even though they had him booked on a flight to New York, the source added.

One insider told us, ” ‘The Good Wife’ is set in Chicago but filmed in New York, so they like to have cameos from prominent people from Chicago.

“Derrick had agreed to play himself in an episode. The deal had been done and the contract had been signed,” we’re told.

“But when the car arrived at his house in Chicago Tuesday morning, he didn’t answer the door,” our source related. “The driver waited but he didn’t appear. Finally, an unidentified man came out and said: ‘Derrick is not going to New York.’

“This was very frustrating for the show’s cast and crew because the production had been set, the script had been written, and actors including Josh Charles were on standby for him.

“By the end of the day there was still no explanation why he didn’t show or if he wants to do the scene at a later date.”

A rep for the Bulls said, “We didn’t have training today, so I wouldn’t know if he did show or not. This is a matter for his agent.” Calls and e-mails to Rose’s rep and agent were not returned.

A rep for “The Good Wife,” which stars Julianna Margulies and Chris Noth, declined to comment. Other stars who have made cameo appearances on the political drama include Michael J. Fox, “iCarly” star Miranda Cosgrove and former Bill Clinton adviser Vernon Jordan.
