Bourne screenwriter Tony Gilroy interested in meeting James Franco

Could James Franco be the next Jason Bourne? Spies at the after-party for Franco’s new movie, “127 Hours,” tell us Bourne screenwriter Tony Gilroy “made a beeline for Franco, asking to be introduced to him.” Franco was celebrating the premiere of his new Danny Boyle-directed movie at Bunker on Tuesday night, with stars including Elizabeth Banks, Agyness Deyn — who spies said also had her eye on Franco but for more flirtatious reasons — Swizz Beats and Padma Lakshmi. Franco’s performance in the movie about hiker Aron Ralston, who cut off his arm after it was trapped under a boulder, is already generating Oscar buzz. Matt Damon recently said he wouldn’t return for a fourth Bourne picture after the departure of director Paul Greengrass, sparking speculation about whom Gilroy would choose if Damon doesn’t change his mind. But a source close to Gilroy said, “He was just there to see the movie.”
