Lots of magic at Bill’s dinner

Was there something about former President Bill Clinton and Cameron Diaz over dinner in Miami Beach? Bubba seemed enchanted by the gorgeous actress when she joined him with boyfriend Alex Rodriguez at Prime 112 on Thursday, spies tell us.

Clinton, whose foundation is launching a yearlong celebration of his post-presidential life, hosted the event with supporters including media mogul Haim Saban, publishing magnate Dirk Ziff, and Avenue Capital’s Marc Lasry, who once employed Chelsea.

“Clinton spent a lot of time talking to Cameron and Alex,” our source said. “They had been at a Miami Heat charity dinner earlier and were the last ones to join the table, but the seats directly opposite Clinton were saved for them. He was in conversation with everyone at the table, but he and Cameron were joking and laughing a lot.”

In a seeming feat of magic, Clinton got JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon and former Citigroup CEO Sandy Weill to sit at the same table and exchange polite conversation. The pair famously fell out over a 1995 story which suggested Dimon was pushing Weill into the background at Citigroup. Weill later revealed he fired Dimon in 1999 “because he wanted to be CEO.”

A spy told Page Six, “Everybody was amazed that Sandy and Jamie spoke and were cordial to each other. I guess when you are in the presence of President Clinton, you do what you are supposed to do.

The power feast for 25 also included sugar baron Alfy Fanjul, Clinton aide Doug Band, Gateway billionaire Ted Waitt and Arkansas philanthropists Truman and Anita Arnold. Clinton was tackled by NFL star Chad Ochocinco, who was celebrating his birthday at another table with pals, including Terrell Owens. Ochocinco asked Prime 112 owner Myles Chefetz to introduce them to Clinton. He then tweeted, “Does it mean I’m finally famous when Bill Clinton comes to my birthday party?”

A Clinton rep said he’s in Miami to announce an agreement to make healthy school meals available for 30 million kids and the event was just “dinner with friends.”
