Rachel McAdams and Michael Sheen have reportedly split.
A source tells Us Weekly that the 34-year-old actress has ended her relationship with her “Midnight in Paris” costar after two years.
The two emerged as a couple in October 2010 after filming wrapped on the Woody Allen romantic comedy. They first met at a party for Sheen’s weeper, “Beautiful Boy.”
McAdams told The Sunday Telegraph’s Stella magazine in January of last year that she didn’t start dating the 44-year-old British actor and Tony Blair look-a-like until “Midnight in Paris” wrapped.
“We became quite good friends [on set], which I think is a great way to start. I felt very blessed to have made a Woody Allen film in Paris together,” the “Mean Girls” star said.
No reason has yet been cited behind the apparent break up. McAdams said prior to their reported split that they tried their best to manage the long-distance aspect of the relationship.
McAdams, who lives in Toronto, Canada, while Sheen divides his time between his native Wales and Los Angeles, told the UK magazine, “Michael and I never spend more than three weeks apart — we rack up a lot of air miles — but you have to be quite adaptable in this business whether you are in a relationship or not. Trying to establish roots somewhere is a bit of a joke.”
Before Sheen, McAdams previously dated and was engaged to her “Notebook” costar Ryan Gosling. Sheen, meanwhile, dated Kate Beckinsale for eight years and have a 14-year-old daughter, Lily.
