Michael Sheen, Rachel McAdams split over future plans: report

Michael Sheen and Rachel McAdams reportedly called off their two-year romance because they weren’t on the same page with their relationship.

An insider told People that the “Midnight in Paris” co-stars split because Sheen, 44, couldn’t fully commit to McAdams’ plans for the future.

“Rachel wants to settle down and is dreaming of having a family. Michael always seemed content with their relationship,” said the source of the 34-year-old actress. “Since he already has a daughter [Lily, 14, with actress Kate Beckinsale], he feels no need to have more children. He wants to focus on his career”

McAdams, who previously dated and was engaged to her “Notebook” co-star Ryan Gosling, first met at a party for Sheen’s weeper “Beautiful Boy.” They emerged as a couple in October 2010 after filming wrapped on the Woody Allen romantic comedy.

While they are no longer together, it seems they are remaining friends.

“They still have some contact and are friendly,” the source continued to People. “They tried to work things out, but at the end they just couldn’t agree. It caused some frustration and they thought it was better to go separate ways.”
