Harvey Weinstein’s pregnant wife, Georgina Chapman, doled out popcorn to an Upper West Side audience Monday when a glitch stalled a test screening of the Julia Roberts–Meryl Streep drama “August: Osage County.”
Halfway through the film, the screen went black, which the audience thought was an artistic effect until they were told a projector bulb blew. During the half-hour repair at the Lincoln Square 13, Chapman jumped into action to keep viewers in their seats. (Most stayed put, though one wiseacre called out, “The film went over budget, that’s why it stopped!”) A spy added, “The majority stayed and gave the movie high marks.” Weinstein was seen “smiling by the exit and greeting filmgoers.”
