While Rep. Sean Maloney is making history as one of the few openly gay politicians in office, ex-New Jersey Gov. Jim McGreevey doesn’t believe he could have done the same. When asked at a Thursday night screening of the HBO documentary “Fall to Grace” if he could have been governor if he had been honest about his sexuality from the beginning, McGreevey, who resigned from office in 2004 after coming out as a “gay American,” told the audience, “not at that time.” The documentary directed by Alexandra Pelosi, follows McGreevey’s new life as a spiritual counselor to incarcerated women. The screening was at the Time Warner Center.
