Harvey Weinstein will bring a replica of Kon-Tiki — the raft Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl used in his famed 1947 expedition across the Pacific — to New York this month. The replica, which has been on display in an Oslo mueum, was built by Heyerdahl’s grandson in 2006, when he repeated his ancestor’s sea adventure himself. Filmmakers Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg subsequently used the replica for their 2012 film about the voyage, “Kon-Tiki,” an Oscar nominee for Best Foreign Language Film. Weinstein revealed Friday at an Explorers Club lunch for the movie, where guests included David de Rothschild and Glenn Close, that the replica goes on display at North Cove Marina on April 22.
