Artie Lange says return to Stern show ‘would be the greatest thing ever’

Former “Howard Stern” personality Artie Lange gushed over the prospect of returning to his old job alongside the infamous shock jock.

Lange appeared last night on Nick DiPaolo’s Fox Sports Radio show, during which a caller said he couldn’t wait for the troubled comedian’s return to Stern’s radio show.

Lange said a return to the show “would be the greatest thing ever.”

“Listen, I was on the greatest show of all time for about nine years … and I put them in a very awkward situation to say the least, so, what am I gonna do?” Lange continued.

The comedian also said he was treated well during his time with Stern, whose show now airs on Sirius XM radio.

“But I love them all and they were great to me. I appreciate it,” Lange said.

Page Six first reported in January 2010 that Lange was rushed to hospital after he stabbed himself nine times in a suicide attempt.

At the time, Stern referenced Lange’s substance abuse and praised him for what he brought to the show on a daily basis.

“We all have our demons. Artie has given this show tremendous moments of great comedy. He’s a tremendous contributor. He is a good man. Don’t forget how great he is,” Stern said following the incident.
