The royal couple threw some stars for a loop at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club over the weekend. Sources said Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge arrived a half-hour early for the event, and when they got to the end of the red carpet, the Secret Service shut down the area so they could do a meet-and-greet. That left arriving stars — including Rob Lowe, Zoe Saldana, Joe Jonas and Karlie Kloss — following on a red carpet eerily devoid of paparazzi, who’d moved on to cover Wills and Kate. At a brunch the next day at the home of Steve Tisch for Tusk Trust’s US Patrons Circle, the newlyweds arrived via helicopter to greet Hollywood heavyweights including Robert Iger and Bryan Lourd. The event was sponsored by Dom Perignon, “but some guests were asking for coffee instead of Champagne — it was 9 in the morning!” a source said. The royals left LA in a more proletarian style, boarding an ordinary British Airways commercial flight.
