Rocker Don Miggs says that Lindsay Lohan was a terror to work with on the set of his band’s video “Let the Games Begin,” which was her first acting gig after being released from house arrest in late June.
While the MIGGS frontman initially claimed to have been pleased with Lohan’s behavior on set, he is now saying that she held up production while getting “extensions” and a “spray tan” and he further says that the troubled starlet accused someone on set of “stealing $10,000 worth of vintage underwear” from her dressing room.
The concept of the video was intended to be a redemption tale for Lohan, Miggs says. She played a model/actress by day and a graffiti artist by night, one who was being harassed by the police even though her art was social commentary. “I do believe that all of us have an Etch A Sketch and deserve the chance to wipe it clean. No one likes a good comeback like America, ” Miggs says. “I wanted to give her a real shot. I hoped it wouldn’t be the cliche.”
However, the first day on set, Lohan allegedly demanded hair extensions, and held up production for two hours. Later that night came the most bizarre moment, according to Miggs. Lohan charged that $10,000 worth of vintage underwear had been stolen from her dressing room, even though the room was apparently being watched by a bodyguard. “She said, ‘I got in trouble for taking things, and now someone has stolen for me,'” Miggs recalls. “The thing that blows my mind is–why buy $10,000 of vintage underwear–but why bring it to a video shoot? I know my underwear breaks down after some time. Why put $10,000 into vintage underwear?”
The second day on set, Lohan allegedly would not leave her trailer until she had been spray tanned, holding up production yet again. And at the end of the shoot, Miggs says, a stylist noted that that a costume Lohan wore had gone missing.
When the “Let the Games Begin” video was first released in August, Miggs had publicly applauded Lohan’s professionalism, saying that “[Lohan] was focused and serious.” But now he’s asserting that he almost called off the shoot midway through because of Lohan’s behavior. He says he “debated the situation” and “finally decided to revise the record” and tell what really happened from his perspective in hopes it might be “a wake-up call for Lohan.”
“I don’t want to see her back in jail before she figures out that she can act,” he says. “On that set, she just lights up the screen.”
A rep for Lohan said, “[Lindsay] did not hold up production in any way during the entire shoot. I do not have any knowledge of stolen underwear. What is confusing to me is they were so grateful towards Lindsay after the shoot, and profusely thanked me for all our efforts. I am very disappointed they decided to take this route to promote their video.”
