Novelist’s wife in lit snit

Literary lioness Ayelet Waldman had a claws-out Twit fit yesterday when Amazon reviewers dissed her Pulitzer Prize-winning husband, Michael Chabon’s, first children’s book, “The Astonishing Secret of Awesome Man,” for being, well, too childish. “To the [bleeping] MORON Amazon reviewers giving Awesome Man 1 star bc ‘It would be good for, like, a 2 year old’ IT WAS WRITTEN FOR LITTLE KIDS,” Waldman tweeted yesterday. She followed that up by angrily tweeting, “So, what, is idiocy the new prerequisite for the Amazon Vine program? You actually don’t GET that a picture book is for children? Jackasses.” Amazon Vine is the site’s category for its “most trusted” reviewers. Chabon wrote “Awesome Man,” about a vain superhero, with illustrations by Jake Parker as his first kids’ book effort, although he’s best known for grown-up novels “Wonder Boys,” “The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay” and “The Yiddish Policemen’s Union.” Waldman is a writer herself, with books including “Bad Mother: A Chronicle of Maternal Crimes, Minor Calamities and Occasional Moments of Grace.”
