Spurred on by her recent estimated $30 million contract extension with Sony Music, Barbra Streisand has been approached by label execs to record an album of duets with young, hip artists, including Adele and Rihanna. Industry sources say the move would aim to goose Babs’ appeal with more youthful record buyers beyond core Streisand fans. The diva’s been on Columbia Records since 1963. Tony Bennett made such cross-generational, high-profile pairings for Columbia last year by releasing “The Lady Is A Tramp” with Lady Gaga and “Body and Soul” with Amy Winehouse on his “Duets II” album. But before any possible dueting, Streisand has a full plate, including her just-announced concert at the 19,000-seat Barclays Center, a charity event with Bill Clinton and a new movie, “The Guilt Trip,” with Seth Rogen, at the end of the year. We’re just hoping she does one duet with Ke$ha.
