Barack Obama cracked several George Clooney jokes at a star-studded fundraiser held at the actor’s home in Los Angeles last night.
During the event, which reports say raised $15 million for the president and Democratic party, Obama explained the story behind his iconic “Hope” poster, which artist Shepard Fairey based on an image of the President sitting beside Clooney.

“This is the first time that George Clooney has ever been Photoshopped out of a picture,” Obama joked, according to TMZ. “Never happened before, never happened again.”
Obama of course took a moment to say some sincere words about his pal, too.
“He seems to occupy a constant state of grace, and uses his extraordinary talents on behalf of something truly important,” Obama said of Clooney.
As he thanked the attendees — including Robert Downey Jr., Barbra Streisand, Salma Hayek and Tobey Maguire — for their generous contributions, Obama added, “We raised a lot of money because people love George. They like me; they love George.”
Dashing reports that there may have been trouble between Clooney and girlfriend Stacy Keibler, as the former wrestler attended the Met Ball without him, reports say that she did attend last night’s event.
Stars paid $40,000 for the honor of being at the fundraiser, which was catered by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck.
