Publishing scion Austin Hearst celebrates wedding at the Museum of Natural History

Dinosaurs towered dramatically over a wedding celebration for publishing scion and entrepreneur Austin Hearst and Candela fashion designer Gabriela Perezutti. The couple, who officially tied the knot at City Hall in April, partied at the American Museum of Natural History with friends and family, as well as top Hearst editors, publishers and execs on Monday night. Spotted at tables covered in locally grown peonies in the Theodore Roosevelt Rotunda, where an allosaurus and barosaurus stood guard, were Hearst chairman (also the groom’s brother and best man) William Randolph Hearst III, as well as executive vice chairman Frank Bennack Jr. and CEO Steven Swartz. Guests — including Lauren Hutton, Joanna Coles, Jay Fielden, Anne Fulenwider, Robbie Myers, Carol Smith, Terry McDonell and Peggy Siegal — had arrived through Bronson van Wyck’s 240-foot allee of boxwood hedges, then circulated with cocktails in the Hall of African Mammals. After a Sant Ambroeus meal, Hearst and his chic bride in Dior Haute Couture invited the crowd to dance to Grammy-nominated Alabama Shakes in what the band said was its first-ever wedding performance.
