Joe Lhota seems to be the preferred mayoral candidate of some of the city’s wealthiest Republicans, judging by the committee hosting his fund-raiser next Friday in Southampton. John Catsimatidis and George McDonald are also in the race, but Lhota has the backing of his former boss Rudy Giuliani, Anne Eisenhower, Ken Langone, Herb Siegel, Henry Buhl and Martin Gruss. The invite for the $200-a-head bash at the oceanfront manse of Credit Suisse banker Scott Lindsay and wife Michele suggests a political rift in some families. Three wives are on Lhota’s committee — Julia Koch, Carol Mack and Simone Levinson — but not their husbands, David Koch, Earle Mack and David Levinson.
