Shia LaBeouf ‘retiring from public life’

Former “Transformers” star Shia LaBeouf seems to have reached his breaking point. After a series of controversies, the actor has announced he is stepping out of the public eye.

“In light of the recent attacks against my artistic integrity, I am retiring from all public life,” the 27-year-old actor, tweeted in the early morning hours of Friday. “My love goes out to those who have supported me. #stopcreating.”

LaBoeuf was accused of plagiarizing parts of his short film “HowardCantour.com” from David Clowes’ 2007 comic “Justin M. Damiano”.

The actor made an attempt at apologizing, writing on Twitter, “Im embarrassed that I failed to credit @danielclowes for his original graphic novella Justin M. Damiano, which served as my inspiration…..In my excitement and naiveté as an amateur filmmaker, I got lost in the creative process and neglected to follow proper accreditation.”

LaBoeuf even hired a skywriting team to put, “I am sorry Daniel Clowes” over Los Angeles — a stunt that prompted Lena Dunham to tweet, “I’ve always felt, utterly and unchangeably, that only sociopaths hire skywriters.”

On Wendesday LaBoeuf posted a cease and desist letter from Clowes’ legal team. It read, “Your client is seriously out of control…..We have been waiting since December 27 to hear how Mr LaBoeuf intends to make it right, but all that happened is further wrongful acts…and more foolishness such as Mr LaBeouf’s New Year’s Day sky-writing frolic that exposed Mr Clowes to further ridicule.”
