Jay-Z hates ‘We Are the World 25,’ do you?

After wrapping my brain around the laundry list of musicians (and Vince Vaughn) Lionel Richie and Quincy Jones assembled by throwing darts at issues of Rolling Stone to perform on “We Are The World 25,” I have to wonder if it was worth the trouble. Yes, it’s a great cause, but was producing a terrible video and an even more horrific song really the way to generate maximum funds for Haiti?

I mean, who’s gonna pay to hear Wyclef Jean channel a dying giraffe??? Thankfully, I’m not the only one hating on the song’s second act. “I know everybody is gonna take this wrong: ‘We Are the World,’ I love it, and I understand the point and think it’s great. But I think ‘We Are the World’ is like [Michael Jackson’s] ‘Thriller’ to me. I don’t ever wanna see it touched,” Jay-Z told MTVNews. It was a valiant effort, but for me, [‘We Are the World’ is] gonna be untouchable.”

Check out the video and decide for yourself who is in the wrong: Jay-Z for criticizing or Quincy & company for creating.

What do you think of “We Are the World 25”?
