Reunion for ‘X-Files’ stars

Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny reunited Saturday to discuss their long-running Fox series, “The X Files,” at Manhattan’s Paley Center for Media.

Anderson revealed she wanted to guest-star on “Californication,” but Duchovny, who plays a hedonistic novelist in the Showtime series, was reluctant because he wanted to protect the memory of their “X-Files” characters, Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.

Anderson responded, “Come on, I could have been the Scully-impersonating stripper that you have sex with!” The pair said they would both be interested in another movie based on the sci-fi show, which ran for nine seasons. Not up for discussion? The recent rumor that they are secretly a couple.
