Newly single former Gov. David Paterson surprised a group gathered to watch the presidential debate Wednesday at Millesime. Paterson — who we recently revealed separated from wife Michelle — arrived at the Madison Avenue restaurant as a guest of Brian Benjamin of Young Professionals United for Change. “He was asked to attend and address voter turnout,” a rep explained. “The governor spoke to the group and let them know that no matter which way they voted, it was important they exercise their right to vote.” Spies say the legally blind Paterson also cracked that anyone who disagreed with him could leave, and he “wouldn’t notice anyway.” He then went home to watch the debate.
