Music mogul has emergency appendectomy

Music mogul Irving Azoff, who’s managed the careers of the Eagles, Christina Aguilera, Van Halen and New Kids on the Block, underwent an emergency appendectomy on Dec. 26 after experiencing abdominal pain on vacation.

Azoff was relaxing at La Quinta Resort & Club near Palm Springs, Calif., after spending time in Cabo San Lucas.

When he became ill, movie producer promoter Jerry Weintraub, who was also at La Quinta, urged him to see a doctor.

Azoff then had a “successful emergency appendectomy” at Eisenhower Medical Center in Palm Springs, his rep confirmed to Page Six.

“He’s recuperating nicely and anxious to get back to LA,” added the rep. Azoff was executive chairman of Live Nation until leaving in 2012.

In September, he announced a new partnership with MSG, Azoff MSG Entertainment.

Their first project will be to kick off the Eagles’ tour Jan. 15 with six dates at the revamped Forum in Inglewood, Calif., which MSG bought for $23.5 million and then gave a $70 million facelift to compete with rival Staples Center.
