WATCH: Paula Deen apologizes for using ‘inappropriate, hurtful language’

In a disjointed 46-second YouTube video released this afternoon celebrity chef Paula Deen apologized for using “inappropriate, hurtful language.”

“I want to apologize to everybody for the wrong that I’ve done, and I want to learn and grow from this,” Deen said in the choppy video.

“Inappropriate, hurtful language is totally, totally unacceptable. I’ve made plenty of mistakes along the way, but I beg you, my children, my team, my fans, my partners, I beg for your forgiveness. Please forgive me for the mistakes that I’ve made.”

The odd video apology from Deen comes in the wake of two major PR blunders.

First, Deen promised “Today” show host Matt Lauer that she’d show up this morning to answer questions about her past use of racial slurs but shortly after the show went to air Lauer admitted that Deen was a no-show.

Later, according to RadarOnline, it emerged that U.S. Magistrate Judge G.R Smith hd found the TV cook and her codefendants in their $1.2 million lawsuit “in contempt of court” for allegedly failing to turn in outtakes of Deen “cussing up a storm” and “performing a sex act on a chocolate éclair,” the site writes.

Lisa Jackson, the woman suing Deen and her brother Bubba Hiers, asked the court to rule that Deen violated an order to turn over a tape of “obscene and vulgar video outtakes,” according to documents filed in a Savannah, Ga., court obtained by the gossip site.

That video is said to include Deen swearing and using profane language, including a description of meal that’s “just a syrup that’s gonna stick our balls together.”

She allegedly even performs a sex act on a pastry.

Deen and her codefendants have since complied with the order to turn over the video, a source told Radar, but not until after being found in contempt.

The controversy surrounding Deen started when the 66-year-old Food Network star was questioned in a discrimination lawsuit and admitted to having used racial slurs in the past.
