San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich took his assistants out for a relaxing dinner at db Bistro Moderne in Miami the night before the decisive Game 7 of the NBA finals with the Heat. Coach Pop and his five guests “kicked back” over a long dinner feast with wine Wednesday night — where spies overheard the group talking strategy for last night’s do-or-die championship game against LeBron James and company. Six-foot-eight Spurs player Boris Diaw sat at a separate table and spies saw Pop greet him and offer him a glass of wine. We’re told Diaw, who’s French, “respectfully declined with a smile.” And Popovich then paid Diaw’s bill.
