BritIsh Prime Minister David Cameron was overheard joking to guests at a Creative Industries bash during the Olympics Monday that Mitt Romney’s insult about London did what no other American politician has managed to do before — to “unite all British politicians.” Romney’s quip about London not being ready to host the Games was bashed by UK pols from all corners, as well as the press. Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton also attended the fete, and other guests who were spotted included “The King’s Speech” director Tom Hooper, Working Title partners Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan, “Four Weddings and a Funeral” producer Duncan Kenworthy, Harvey Weinstein, Olympics designer Stella McCartney and artist Tracey Emin. Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt, Culture Minister Ed Vaizy and cast members from the hit show “Downton Abbey” were also seen mingling at the Royal Academy of Arts party thrown as part of the government’s GREAT campaign to promote UK culture abroad during the Olympics.
