The Mets have yet to sign a major-league free agent this offseason, but David Wright has made a pretty major acquisition.
The superstar third baseman got engaged to model Molly Beers over the holidays, according to a report by ESPNNewYork.com. Beers accompanied Wright to the MLB winter meetings for the announcement of his eight-year, $138 million contract extension and the two have been dating for a number of years.
There is no date set for the wedding yet. The relationship became public when Wright threw Beers, a beautiful brunette, a birthday party over the 2008 All-Star break.
