What’s the problem with George Stephanopoulos spotting Morgan Freeman during ABC’s telecast of the president’s inaugural address?
Well, he was actually Bill Russell – one of our nation’s greatest basketball players.
When the camera panned to a shot of the 11-time NBA champ, Stephanopoulos misidentified the Hall of Famer (who was even wearing a Celtics cap) as the five-time Oscar nominee.
“That’s Morgan Freeman, I think, right there on the Capitol steps,” Stephanopoulos said, only to be quickly corrected by someone on the production team.
