Jessica Simpson’s father Joe Simpson was arrested for DUI last weekend and spent a night behind bars, according to a new report.
The 54-year-old showbiz dad was pulled over by the LAPD last Saturday, TMZ claims. During the stop, cops got a feeling he was drunk and ultimately cuffed him. Simpson was driving on Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks, California around 10 p.m. when the arrest occurred.
Simpson’s dad was then booked and spent the rest of the night behind bars. He was released without having to post bail at 9:41 a.m. the following morning, TMZ says.
The site further reports that the case has not been turned over to prosecutors.
Ironically, new mom Jessica Simpson tweeted the same evening, “Responsibility has drastically changed my life! Saturday night drink of choice…. WATER! :)”
