Adele and Chris Brown’s photo at the Grammys was the “showdown” seen around the world.
Several blogs speculated that Adele was admonishing Chris Brown for staying seated as rival Frank Ocean picked up his award for best urban contemporary album while the whole crowd stood up in applause. Brown was nominated in the same category.
Gossip site PerezHilton implied a verbal beatdown: “Adele, who was sitting nearby, supposedly went off on Rihanna’s boo over his lack of manners! As you can see in the photo above, she’s definitely VERY ANIMATED with a timid-looking Breez to say the least!”
Adele took to Twitter to set the record straight when she tweeted last night, “Chris Brown and I were complementing each other in that photo actually!”
The “Skyfall” singer also appeared smiling and friendly with the controversial R&B star in several other photos taken at the Grammys that night. At least someone’s on Team Breezy.
