Honest Abe’s hot, hot, hot

Abraham Lincoln — who was dubbed by The Post as “sexiest man (not) alive!” — continues to be a hot commodity after 12 Oscar nominations, a Super Bowl ad appearance and a new movie opening tomorrow, “Saving Lincoln”. On the eve of Lincoln’s birthday earlier this week, guests including Tony Bennett, Lewis Lapham and editors of the Paris Review, The New Yorker and Vanity Fair gathered at the St. Regis Hotel to toast a new, limited edition book by Harold Holzer, “Abraham Lincoln: Defender of Freedom.” (Holzer also was an advisor on the Steven Spielberg movie.) At the bash, Timothy Don read The Gettysburg Address as two “Union soldiers” from the 69th Regiment stood guard (just in case any Rebels were skulking around Fifth Avenue). Luke Ives Pontifell’s Thornwillow Press is publishing just 300 copies of the tome which are hand-bound, numbered and signed by Holzer, who told The Post, “Every president to whom I’ve spoken identifies themselves with Lincoln, regardless of party.”
