WATCH: Anne Hathaway explains why she skipped BAFTA red carpet and was booed

Anne Hathaway didn’t have the best time at the BAFTA Awards in London.

The “Les Miserables” star stopped by Jay Leno’s “Tonight Show” last night and recalled how she ripped her dress and had to skip the red carpet, which caused fans to boo her.

Hathaway said, “I was so late that I had to run straight down to the end of the carpet and miss all the interviews. And, the worst part was, I missed the fans — signing [autographs]. They’re out in the cold and the rain and the sleet, and they booed me! … So, I got booed, my dress ripped and I had the flu.”

The evening wasn’t an entire miss. The actress picked up a BAFTA for best supporting actress and got to hug George Clooney.

Leno cracked, “I just saw George Clooney. He’s got the flu now.”
