EXCLUSIVE: Tory Burch and Lyor Cohen call it quits

As Fashion Week winds down, so has Tory Burch and Lyor Cohen’s relationship, Page Six can exclusively reveal.

The high-flying preppy designer and the former Warner Music Group head have broken up after dating for five years, multiple sources close to them said.

The split marks the end of one of New York’s most visible power couples, as Burch and Cohen have become fixtures at glittering galas from Manhattan to the Hamptons.

Cohen was at Burch’s Fashion Week presentation this week at the Pierre. But behind the scenes, close pals have been quietly learning that the two have amicably parted ways.

“They’ve decided to take a break from their relationship,” said a source. “But they remain close friends.”

Perhaps hinting at the situation, Burch wrote in StyleList this week of her plans for last night: “My Valentine’s Day plan? I have a standing date with my three boys. Dinner at home watching a movie. Sounds perfect.”

Burch and Cohen have individually weathered ups and downs recently. Last month she settled a bitter and bloody court battle with her ex-husband, Christopher Burch, after accusing his C. Wonder chain of being a “knockoff” of her brand, valued by some at $2 billion.

Meanwhile, Cohen resigned in September from Warner, where he was reportedly negotiating a new contract and had a salary of $11 million. He’s now said to be putting together a talent agency.

One source speculated it was Cohen’s suddenly uncertain job status that may have contributed to the split. “Tory doesn’t like people in transition,” the insider sniffed.

Others said the separation could just be a bump in the road. “It looks like they’re taking a break,” a friend said. “Don’t be surprised if these two ended up together again.”

“They’ve led very different lives,” said a pal of both. “I think they loved the glamour at first, but it wasn’t a recipe for a lasting relationship.”

Reps for Burch and Cohen had no comment.
