Tim Tebow didn’t fit in Big Apple

Tim Tebow’s release from the Jets has fellow players and team owners agreeing that New York just wasn’t the place for the popular backup quarterback. New York Giants defensive end Justin Tuck told us, “I think him being in New York just wasn’t a good fit. I hope this gives him an opportunity to get a clean slate and go somewhere where he can help a football team win games because he is a winner . . . I’m glad for him.” Meanwhile, Suzanne Johnson, wife of Jets owner Woody, thinks the quarterback will do better outside of the Big Apple. “I think he’ll find a home, and possibly be able to flourish more than in New York,” she told Page Six. “Maybe in a different time he would have been able to flourish better. Because we had Mark Sanchez as our franchise quarterback already, it was a weird position to be in. Maybe if things had changed it would have been different . . . It’s not like he can’t handle New York, he certainly can, but the circumstances when he arrived just didn’t work.”
