Katy Perry was so overcome with emotion from the finale of Broadway’s “Kinky Boots” that she told her handlers she needed a few minutes “to compose herself” before meeting her idol, the show’s composer Cyndi Lauper, after yesterday’s performance. “She was crying so hard she thought she lost an eyelash,” a backstage spy told Page Six. Lauper spotted the sobbing singer and offered her a tissue, saying, “Honey, I keep these on me at all times. I’ve been crying nonstop all week.” Lauper was nominated for her first Tony Award on Tuesday morning for her work on “Kinky Boots,” one of the 13 nominations that the show garnered.
