Bergdorf Goodman personal shopper Betty Halbreich a screen sensation

The fashion world has a new superstar, and it’s not a designer — she’s a personal shopper. Bergdorf Goodman’s Betty Halbreich stole the show at Monday night’s Cinema Society screening of the fashion doc “Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s.” Halbreich, 85, who has styled everyone from Candice Bergen to Meryl Streep (and is famed for her brutal honesty), had guests crowding around her at an after-party at Harlow. Halbreich’s cinematic turn is far from over — Lena Dunham is also developing a show based on Betty and the store’s hallowed halls. Others at the Swarovski bash included Vera Wang, Tommy and Dee Hilfiger, Courtney Love, Nicky Hilton, Reed Krakoff and Bergdorf icon Linda Fargo.
