CNBC is sweating over abysmal ratings for last week’s debut of “Crowd Rules,” the business-competition show hosted by NY1 anchor Pat Kiernan and jewelry designer Kendra Scott. The show, where three small-business owners compete for $50,000 each week, pulled in only 47,000 total viewers and 12,000 in the coveted viewer demo of 25-to-54-year-olds on Tuesday night. The numbers were too small for Nielsen to include the show in its rankings. Sources told us the network’s top brass were “flipping out.” But a CNBC rep denies panic: “While the ratings were laughably low, the advantage of being first in business worldwide during the day is that you can have patience at night.” Or at least until next Tuesday.
