Frankie Muniz is recovering after suffering a “mini stroke” last week.

The 26-year-old “Malcolm in the Middle” star revealed his health scare via Twitter today.

“I was in the hospital last Friday. I suffered a ‘Mini Stroke,’ which was not fun at all,” he tweeted. “Have to start taking care of my body! Getting old!”

Muniz, who became a household name after starting in the hit Fox sitcom, did not offer up any further details.

Sources have told TMZ that the actor was taken to an Arizona ER on Friday and doctors still do not know what caused it.

Friends allegedly noticed Muniz was “acting really weird” and had trouble speaking and understanding words before being taken to the hospital.

The gossip site says that Muniz is still awaiting test results and has been told by doctors to take it easy.

The star plays drums for the band Kingsfoil, and has tweeted details of the band’s upcoming dates since the hospitalization.

In February 2011, police were called to the Phoenix home of Muniz and his girlfriend. She told authorities that Muniz struck her and put a gun to his own head, possibly with suicidal intent. Muniz’ rep denied the incident. Muniz told police the gun was not loaded and that he had picked up its case, but not the gun itself.
