If you are “well-organized, spontaneous, and graceful under pressure,” Charlie Rose needs you. The top journalist is looking for an assistant on his PBS show. According to an ad on the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism Web site, the qualified applicant will act as the “liaison between Charlie, his producers, and the wider world; handling and coordinating his work, personal, and travel schedule; negotiating his speaking engagements; accompanying him to events in and outside of New York, as well as internationally; actively contributing editorial ideas for the show, and in some cases producing; being well-organized, spontaneous, and graceful under pressure” (basically doing his entire job). Those who measure up should submit a résumé to Rose’s current assistant Emma McCormick-Goodhart, who told us: “Working at ‘Charlie Rose’ has widened my horizons enormously. I would encourage highly qualified and imaginative individuals to apply.”
