Catsimatidis stumping in Southampton

Mayoral hopeful John Catsimatidis hit the Hamptons on Sunday to speak to a select crowd at a private event hosted by power attorney Rich Farley, Chele Chiavacci, and Jonathan and Somers Farkas. The Gristedes billionaire mingled poolside at the Southampton soiree with guests including philanthropist Yaz Hernandez and her husband, Citibank’s Valentin Hernandez, art adviser Liliana Cavendish, Sharon Bush, Love Heals co-founder Dini von Mueffling, ARThood founder Lisa Anastos, and power publicists Leslie Stevens, Norah Lawlor and Susan Shin. Self-made billionaire Catsimatidis — who’s personally funding his campaign to the reported tune of $1 million a month — gave a serious speech about his plans for New York, describing how his experience in the private sector would translate to successfully running the city. He praised his glamorous wife Margo as “a great first lady for New York” and poked fun at his own portly frame. “I don’t like the design of New York taxis,” he said. “It takes a lot of work to get each leg in.”
