Kirstie Alley ‘livid’ at Leah Remini for leaving Scientology

Scientology member Kirstie Alley is reportedly furious at ex-member Leah Remini after the “King of Queens” actress broke away from the organization.

Page Six reported last week that Remini quit the church following years of “interrogations” and “thought modifications” after questioning Scientology practices and the whereabouts of leader David Miscavige’s wife, Shelly.

Alley, an outspoken defender of Scientology, tweeted Wednesday morning, “When faced w malicious gossip I take a moment to experience the loss of the person I thought was my friend… Then I say [bleep] em..:) #RISE”

Former Village Voice editor Tony Ortega claimed in his Scientology blog that Alley was “livid at Remini” for leaving.

“Our sources tell us that Alley worked the phones that day, raising a stink with the personnel at the Hollywood Celebrity Centre — what were church officials going to do about Remini’s defection?” Ortega wrote.

“A meeting was called for Alley and other celebrities to get a briefing from church executives about what was going on and what they planned to do about it.”

The meeting was reportedly held at longtime Scientologist Melinda Brownstone’s home. Sources explained to Ortega that Brownstone was one of Remini’s best friends until they had an alleged falling out in 2008.
