Remini finds support in J.Lo as Scientology pals turn backs on actress

Leah Remini’s sister claims that the “King of Queens” actress has lost a slew of Scientology friends since her very public break from the church, but she has found support in a certain A-lister and longtime pal: Jennifer Lopez

“They’re best friends and they’re fine,” Remini’s sister, Nicole Remini Wiskow, told People magazine.

“None of her Scientology friends are sticking by her side. I guess you really learn who your friends are.”

Longtime Scientology member Kirstie Alley was said to be furious at Remini for her exit, but Alley adamantly denied the reports on Monday.

As Page Six reported last week, former Sea Org member Mike Rinder blogged that at Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ 2006 wedding, Remini innocently asked where Miscavige’s wife, Shelly, was. Former Scientology Celebrity Centre head Tommy Davis scolded her, “You don’t have the [bleeping] rank to ask about Shelly.” Lopez was reportedly there to witness it.

Lopez is not a member of the church, but there was speculation that Remini was trying to convert Lopez to Scientology when they were first spotted hanging out in 2007.

Addressing the rumors, Remini told People magazine back then, “Two girls can’t hang out together? What does that have to do with religion? I just don’t understand it. I would never question, ‘Such-and-such is hanging out. Does anybody know her religious beliefs? Because that’s why they’re probably hanging out together.’ She’s a fabulous girl. I’m fabulous to hang out with. But it’s like, ‘What could these two have in common? She must be trying to convert her!’”
